I'll be holding a few art and creative writing workshops for children in April 2013. The sessions will take place at the Huntingdon Library and the Commemoration Hall (on the High Street in Huntingdon).

3 April: Adventures in Painting
This session is designed for children in Key Stage 1. Participants will learn about colour theory and the essentials of mixing and applying paints. They'll also explore various techniques of adding textures to their paintings.
Time: 1.15 - 3.45 p.m.

5 April: Fun with Acrylics and Mixed Media
This is a course for Key Stage 2 children that builds on their knowledge of colour theory and mixing. They'll explore various ways of using acrylics and incorporating other media such as paper and found objects in their paintings.

9 April: Sharpening Your Drawing Skills (Key Stage 1)
Key Stage 1 children will learn the basics of drawing realistically and from their imagination. They'll learn how to draw from graphics and still life using different materials such as pens and pastels.

10 April: Tell Me a Story: Adventures in Creative Writing
Open to children from ages 5 to 11, this is a fun-filled workshop that will feature story-building exercises, from character conceptualisation to plot development. Participants will be writing their own storybooks during the workshop.

11 April: Making Pop-Up Books
Designed for Key Stage 2 children, this course will teach participants the fundamentals of paper engineering and help them design different kinds of structures for their own pop-up books.

12 April: Sharpening Your Drawing Skills (Key Stage 2)
From basic drawing skills to doing volume and figure drawing, this intensive course aims to teach participants what they need to know in order to draw anything confidently.
