- I was born and raised in the Philippines, but have called the UK my home since 2002.
- I have a degree in Chemistry.
- I've worked as an editor (books, journals, web content, you name it, I'll edit it) for the past 15 years.
- I will always be grateful for the one year I worked as a chemist because I became good friends with a guy who lent me his Frank Miller, Grant Morrison and Neil Gaiman comic books. I have been hooked on comic books since.
- I love artsy-fartsy films and I'm especially a big fan of Wong Kar Wai, Wes Anderson, Pedro Almodovar, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, and Jean Luc Godard. When I want to relax, I watch Studio Ghibli films. I also very occasionally watch action films if they feature Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Daniel Craig, Ewan McGregor or Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I would watch pretty much anything with Meryl Streep in it. Heck, I even watched Mamma Mia and It's Complicated. I watch Singing in the Rain and Breakfast at Tiffany's once a year. I will also keep watching Rear Window because I love each and every one of Grace Kelly's outfits in that film.
- It was Keri Smith's blog, Wish Jar Journal, that inspired me to go back to my first love—illustration.
- Dave McKean, Maira Kalman, Sara Midda and Chihiro Iwasaki are among my main influences.
- I also love sewing and crochet.
- I recently found out that I also love teaching children about art and creative writing. I've been running afterschool classes three days a week in our local primary school. I'm currently developing a series of intensive workshops for primary schoolchildren and will soon progress to preparing lessons for older children and adults.
- I will always love The Smiths.
